- We only collect what we need to run our classes, volunteering and donations.
- We never sell your information, and we do not use advertising tracking.
- Card payments are handled by Donorbox. We never see your card details.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1Who we are
Stichting Yazidi@School ("Yazidi At School", "we", "us") is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We are a charitable foundation registered in the Netherlands and follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2What we collect
When you contact us
Through our contact form: your name, gender, email address, phone number, city, country, subject and message. If you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive your name, number or address and what you write.
When you apply to volunteer
Your name, email address, phone number, gender, city, country, degree, whether you hold a TESOL, EFL or ESL certificate, what you tell us about yourself, and your CV.
When you register as a student
The details asked for in our registration form, such as your name, contact details, gender and location. During classes we also keep attendance, test results and the certificates we award.
When you donate
Donorbox and its payment partners process your payment. We receive your name, email address, the amount and the date of your donation, but never your card or bank details.
When you visit our website
Like almost every website, our hosting keeps technical information such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site running and secure.
3Why we use it
Under the GDPR we must have a lawful reason for each use.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
5Outside the EU
Our volunteer teachers live in many countries, and some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area. When information leaves the EEA, we rely on the protections the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses used by those providers.
6How long we keep it
- Messages: as long as needed to answer and follow up.
- Student records and certificates: while you study with us, and afterwards only as long as needed to confirm a certificate.
- Volunteer applications: while you volunteer with us. If we cannot offer you a role, we delete your application and CV.
- Donation records: seven years, because Dutch law requires us to keep financial records for that long.
7Keeping it safe
Only the people who need your information for their role can access it, and our accounts and systems are protected. If a data breach ever puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the Dutch Data Protection Authority as the law requires.
8Children
In the Netherlands, young people under 16 need permission from a parent or guardian before they share personal information with us. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to help you register.
9Our website and cookies
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Our website uses a small number of cookies it needs to work.
- If you use the Translate button, Google Translate processes the page and may set a cookie to remember your language.
- Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.
10Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- limit or object to how we use it;
- receive a copy to take elsewhere;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
Email info@yazidiatschool.org to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month.
11Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the data protection authority in your own country.
12Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make an important change, we will mention it on our website.
