As a translator and interpreter, she has worked on various projects, including proofreading, subtitling, voice-over, and localization. Beyond professional work, she volunteers as an English teacher at the Yazidi School in Amsterdam, contributing to the education of Yazidi people.

Basma has worked with local and international organizations in education, protection, and women’s empowerment, and she continues to advocate for equal learning opportunities in underserved communities. She also enjoys storytelling, literature, and creating safe, inspiring spaces for learning and growth.

Ntene Lineo, an experienced educator from Lesotho, Africa. With over four years of teaching experience, she specializes in English as a Second Language (ESL), Geography, and Development Studies. Passionate about education, Lineo has worked with students from diverse backgrounds across the globe, helping them develop their language skills and understanding of the world. Currently, she teaches B1-level learners, creating engaging lessons that foster both confidence and academic growth.

Sagar Subramanian, a lawyer from India, is currently pursuing his master’s in Germany. Since March 2025, he has been actively involved with YAS, initially joining as part of his social project. What started as a volunteer initiative soon became one of the most enriching experiences of his life. Through his work, Sagar goes beyond traditional education, introducing students to topics that expand their worldview. From famous landmarks and global music to diverse cultural traditions, he strives to inspire curiosity and broaden their horizons.

When Margaret introduced Yazidi At School (YAS), an online program, it became a lifeline. Despite virtual limitations, a strong community formed—students with eager minds and resilient spirits, and teachers united by passion. Together, they learn, grow, and support one another. YAS stands as a beacon of hope for students facing adversity.

Her focus is on building trust and creating a safe, supportive space where students feel free to express themselves and grow.
