Our roots
From Mam Rashan to a global classroom
What started as a local effort in the Mam Rashan IDP camp in 2023 has evolved into a global bridge for Yazidi students. We provide the tools for youth to reclaim their education and their future.
Who we are
A volunteer-run school providing free English education to those whose studies were disrupted by war. We believe education is a fundamental human right and a powerful path to healing and resilience.

How we got here
The evolution of our school
In September 2023, our co-founders launched our first courses on the ground in the Mam Rashan IDP camp. By March 2024, we transitioned entirely online to reach students wherever they are.
Today, we connect professional TESOL and TEFL teachers with eager learners, proving that even after great loss, education remains an investment in dignity, peace, and a better tomorrow.

We collect used laptops and tablets in the Netherlands and ship them to verified students in Iraq, because a course is useless without a device to take it on.
We connect
Our Yazidis in Conversation programme pairs each student with a fluent speaker for a weekly hour of real practice and real friendship.
Accountability
How we are governed
Yazidi At School is a registered charitable foundation in the Netherlands, overseen by a volunteer board with backgrounds in law, migration, psychology and public administration.
We publish our figures openly.
